The Lands and Titles Court in Samoa has adjourned the case relating to the Malietoa paramount matai title until later this week.
This will allow the acting president and judges of the court to go through all written submissions from the 51 parties involved.
The case started on Tuesday with close to 500 supporters and heirs of the title taking part.
27 petitions are in support of, Papalii Fa'amausili Moli, the son of the late head of state who was bestowed with the title last July.
24 are opposed and want the court to allow all heirs of the Malietoa title to choose a successor for the late Malietoa Tanumafili II.
