Police in Fiji say there has been a 20 percent drop in violent crime in the past three weeks.
The Fijivillage website reports police spokesperson, Atunaisa Sokomuri, saying this is due to their Operation Muanimacawa, which is happening in different parts of the country.
The operation includes police officers, who used to do office work, carrying out street patrols.
