Fiji's Taxi Union due to meet to discuss fuel price increases

6:11 am on 2 June 2008

Fiji's Taxi Union will hold a meeting today to discuss measures to offset the fuel price increase.

The Prices and Incomes Board announced another increase in fuel price last week.

Kerosene and diesel prices increased by 8.7 US cents, and motor spirit by 1.3 US cents.

This has been the fourth fuel price rise this year.

The Fiji Times quotes the general secretary of the Union, Rishi Ram, as saying it's too early to say whether the union will increase the taxi fares.
