Fiji's interim PM and ousted PM urged to carry on talks

Fiji's Citizen's Constitutional Forum says Laisenia Qarase and Commodore Frank Bainimarama need to continue dialogue as the future of Fiji depends on it.

The ousted prime minister and interim prime minister met for the first time in months recently.

But the head of the CCF Reverend, Akuila Yabaki, says the negative exchanges between the pair in the media is not helping anyone and makes the people of Fiji feel insecure.

Reverend Akuila Yabaki says they have to be serious about creating dialogue and moving the country forward.

"They need to put aside their egos and personal agendas and exchange at the level of honest discussions and they should stop contradicting themselves as this creates an atmosphere of uncertainty in the country."
