Tourism industry stakeholders is urging interim government officials to attend a National Tourism council meeting today at the Shangri-La Fijian Resort.

Fiji Visitors Bureau chairman, Patrick Wong, says the non-attendance by State officials has always been a problem.

He says government officials sometimes send those who do not have the power to make decisions.

The Fiji Times reports participants at today's meeting will discuss the impacts of the Hotel Turnover Tax, the industry's wedding segment, and many other issues.

Mr Ricketts will attend the meeting with stakeholders and other government representatives.
