Samoa government to re-launch Radio 2AP

3:02 pm on 11 June 2008

Samoa's only public radio station, Radio 2AP, will be re-launched next week after the official handing over of the television station and an FM radio station to the Samoa Quality Broadcasting company, or SQB.

The completion of the privatization process has left Radio 2AP under the management of the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information and Technology with only five staff including four announcers and one engineer.

However the CEO of the ministry has told staff more workers may be hired, after a number had left to work for SQB.
