Since Samoa has finally decided to establish diplomatic missions in Asia by having Embassy offices in China and Japan.

The Prime Minister, Tuila'epa Sa'ilele Malielegaoi, announced the government's initiative before parliament passed the new financial year budget, which includes funding for the new diplomatic offices and staff.

Tuila'epa says by having Samoa's Embassy offices in China and Japan will make sure the negotiations in relation to aid would be more efficient compared to the current system.

The prime minister has also said the decision in last December by a United Nations committee for Samoa to be removed from the Leased Developed Countries list, is another reason behind the move.
