A representative of the British based telecommunications company Cable and Wireless will arrive in the Solomon Islands capital Honiara tomorrow for talks with the Solomon Telekom board regarding the workers' strike.

Cable and Wireless is the overseas partner in Solomon Telekom.

The workers are demanding the removal from office of Telekom's Chief Executive Officer, Martyn Robinson, before they agree to return to work.

Meanwhile, Mr Robinson has issued a media statement over the weekend calling on his more than 300 striking employees to return.

However, the staff are reluctant to take heed and vowed to continue with their strike
