Solomon Islands National Provident Fund Chairman has quit under the mounting

pressure over the Solomon Telekom workers strike.

Adrian Wickham tendered his resignation on Thursday citing political

pressure from the government over the issue.

The Minister of Finance, Synder Rini has yet to accept his resignation and

is believed to be talking to Mr Wickham about reconsidering his decision.

The strike which enters its second week has severly affected the

telecommunication services being provided to the rural areas and the banks.

Meanwhile, the Solomon Telekom board is yet to make a decision on the demand

by the striking workers that the Chief Executive Officer, Martin Robinson be

removed.
