The investigation into a fatal accident in the Solomon Islands capital, Honiara, involving off-duty Regional Assistance Mission officers from Samoa is expected to be completed this week.

The Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation reports police have tried to speak with the Samoa officer injured in the crash, but the man refused to co-operate and would not be interview by Solomon Islands police.

The acting police commissioner Peter Marshall says he's disappointed at the lack of co-operation but still expects the investigation to be finished this week.
