Fiji Police are investigating a third death threat made against the Australian High Commissioner James Batley.

Fiji Times online reports that police have confirmed that the threat was received in a letter last Friday, which was mailed to the High Commissioner and delivered to his office by security guards.

Police spokesman, Atunaisa Sokomuri, says an investigation into the matter is continuing.

Mr Batley is away in Australia on an official trip but police have confirmed additional security arrangements have been made.

The sources of two previous threats against Mr Batley remain unknown.
