The crew of the yacht Blue Star, which is owned by Russian-Israeli media tycoon, Vladimir Gusinksy, rescued an American family from a stricken yacht on Saturday morning in the Marshall Islands, just hours after it had hit a reef in a remote atoll.

Mr Gusinsky, who was on board the luxury, powered, vessel, had left the Marshalls' capital, Majuro, for uninhabited Rongelap Atoll to dive and fish.

During a brief stop at Aur Atoll they picked up a distress call from the 12 metre yacht, Elsewhere, and went to its rescue.
