Cook Islands parliamentary delegation pays brief visit to New Zealand

A delegation from the Cook Islands Parliament has completed a brief visit to New Zealand after having spent two days in parliament in Wellington.

The aim of the visit was to look at the workings of the New Zealand parliament and how their roles relate to their relevant jobs in Rarotonga.

The four were the Deputy Speaker of the House, Cassey Eggleton, Government whip, William Heather, Leader of the House Pastor John Tangi and opposition Whip Albert Nicholas.

Pastor Tangi says they looked at a range of issues.

"Increase our knowledge about the responsibilities of our respective officers in a nut shell it is capacity building empowering of office holders to perform their duties much more effectively forthwith."
