Solomon Islands leading government anti-corruption campaigner, the Auditor General, Augustine Fatai, has died.
Mr Fatai was laid to rest over the weekend after a short illness.
The Prime Minister, Derek Sikua, said Mr Fatai's contributions to upholding transparency and accountability as the Auditor General will long be remembered.
Mr Sikua said he was a good mentor and a great teacher.
As Auditor General, Mr Fatai was responsible for producing eight audit reports uncovering corruption in various Government Ministries, the first such reports from the Audit General's office.
