Vanuatu has withdrawn from the 10th Festival of Pacific Arts being held in American Samoa later this month because of a lack of funding.
But the organizing committee is offering to sponsor two artists from Vanuatu to attend the fesitval which runs from July 20th - August 2nd.
The Festival co-chair, Fagafaga Daniel Langkilde, says the committee was informed yesterday that due to lack of government support, Vanuatu has had to cancel plans to send a delegation.
Fagafaga says they did not want any of the countries to miss out so it's offering to pay for two people from Vanuatu.
He says the selection of the artists is up to Vanuatu.
The hosts have been hoping for the first time to have all 27 member countries of the Pacific Community attending the arts festival.
