The South Africa Rugby Union (SARU) is willing to open its doors for more local players to join its provincial and franchise teams provided they adhere to their contractual obligations.
SARU chairman Mpumelelo Tshume who was in Fiji this week for talks with the Pacific Islands Rugby Alliance in Fiji says his country is ready to develop the sport and engage players in the Currie Cup and Super 14 franchises.
But he says Fiji winger Sireli Naqelevuki's failure to return to his Western Province side after being released for the Pacific Nations Cup is a concern.
The winger, who went missing the same time last year, joins his more celebrated counterpart, Rupeni Caucaunibuca who went missing several times while contracted to French club Agen.
Naqelevuki like Caucau, has also failed drug tests and been suspended.
