Samoa is sending a high level delegation to the Beijing Olympics to lobby for more international sports events to be held in the capital Apia.
The chairman of last year's South Pacific Games Organising Committee, Vaeolenofoafia Vui Tapasu Leung Wai, says the delegation will take copies of the Games report to show that Samoa can host international and regional sports events.
Samoa has already won the rights to host a variety of international sports including the 2010 Oceania swim champs, and looks set to win the right to host the Commonwealth youth Games in 2015.
