The Solomon Islands delegation to the Pacific Arts Festival in American Samoa is mourning the loss of a male member of its group who died early this morning.
The Medical Director of the Health Department Dr. Ivan Tuliau says the deceased experienced seizures with high fever.
The man was then rushed from the Solomons camp at Tafuna elementary to the LBJ hospital but died on the way.
The cause of death is not known but reports say he is suspected to have succumbed to a cerebral malarial infection.
The head of the Solomons delegation, Robert Au, says an official statement will be issued later.
