The Solomon Islands delegation to the Festival of Pacific Arts in Pago Pago will depart three days earlier because of the death of a member of the team.
Wood carver George Garry died Monday morning from a cerebral malarial infection.
George Au, the head of the Solomons group says they will leave on a charter flight Friday morning and will be taking Mr. Garry's remains home to Honiara.
The delegation has received the approval of Mr. Garry's family to continue their performances for the last two days of the festival.
At the closing ceremony of the festival this evening the Solomons will receive the 10th Festival flag from the hosts.
