7:18 pm on 7 August 2008

The Tongan Prime Minister, Dr. Fred Sevele, who has flown to Beijing for tomorrow's opening of the Olympics, is set to stay in China until the Pacific Islands Forum summit starts in eleven days.

He is due to have a bilateral meeting with the Chinese Premier, Wen Jiabao, on Sunday, in the Great Hall of the People.

Meanwhile Fiji's interim leader, Commodore Frank Bainimarama, will also meet Mr Wen.

He has told Radio Fiji before leaving for Beijing that he will discuss a number of programmes which China has agreed to fund.

Commodore Bainimarama will also visit an ethanol plant, as well as a rubbish incineration plant that is used to generate electricity.
