Air NZ flight from Samoa delayed by industrial action

8:50 am on 16 August 2008

An Air New Zealand flight from Samoa was delayed for two hours because

employees of Polynesian Airline's cargo section at Faleolo International airport did not turn up for work.

The employees decided to stay home until overdue overtime hours were paid out.

Some workers did not get their normal working hours salaries as usual this week.

However at a meeting with the airlines CEO , Taua Fatu Tielu, they were told all wages owed would be paid out today and the employees are now back at work.
