A US court has dismissed a case brought against an ousted Fiji government minister Adi Asenaca Caucau who was charged with assault in San Francisco.

Adi Asenaca faced charges of assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence but Fijilive reports that the case against her was dismissed in the interest of justice.

The victims failed to appear in court and the prosecution was unable to prove their case without corroborating evidence.

The charges had been laid after Adi Asenaca hit a Fiji man and a Fiji woman with her high heeled shoe at San Francisco airport.

Fijilive says Adi Asenaca had planned to marry the man she assaulted.
