The Samoa Victim Support group is calling on the police to investigate the alleged rape of a woman by a church minister earlier this month.
A member of the support group says the organization is concerned because a complaint was lodged on the matter but no action was taken.
According to the member, relatives of the victim have approached the
police and asked for the matter not to be investigated because the church
minister had apologized and sought forgiveness.
This is the second incident in Samoa involving local church ministers accused
of alleged sexual offences since the arrest last month of a Congregational
Christian Church minister.
The minister, Lealofi Oto, will stand tial in March next year on charges of attempted rape and indecent assault.
