The Acting Solomon Islands Attorney General Gabriel Suri says there's enough evidence to charge a Samoan RAMSI officer who was allegedly behind the wheel of a vehicle that killed a young nurse in a recent road accident.

The Solomon Star newspaper quotes Mr Suri confirming he has been

informed by the Director of Public Prosecutions that investigations are complete and that there's enough evidence to lay charges.

Samoan Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi has said jurisdiction over the case involving the Samoan Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands officer is not an issue.

He said his Government would be willing to let the officer be tried in the Solomons.

26-year old Hilda Ilabae died when the vehicle allegedly driven by the Samoa officer hit her at Ngossi.

The officer, whose name has not been released, has been relieved of duties.

He's living at the RAMSI headquarters at Henderson.
