More than 600 people throughout Fiji have been infected with dengue fever and the number is growing.

The Health Ministry said over 200 cases alone have been confirmed in the Western Division and close to 400 in the Central and Eastern Division.

The Ministry said dengue has affected both adults and children.

There are also 19 confirmed cases in the Northern Division.

The Fiji Village website says Health Ministry officials are still compiling figures from the weekend.
