Six people arrested in Honiara over voting irregularities

Meanwhile, the Honiara Magistrate's Court has convicted two people for election-related offences during the East Honiara By-Election.

Police arrested a total of six people during the voting.

The first arrest occurred at the Waterfront Polling Station in East Honiara when a male was discovered trying to vote for a second time.

Four young men were arrested at different polling stations after they were caught trying to impersonate another person and vote in that name.

A female was also arrested for impersonating another person at St Nicholas polling station.
