American Samoa's top policeman says students involved in fights and other unruly behaviour should be told the Department of Public Safety will not hesitate to make examples of them.

The acting Commissioner of Public Safety Filifaatali Mike Fuiava says the Department may have been lenient on minors involved in public peace disturbances.

His comments follow apparent skirmishes between students last week.
