Government departments in Palau may soon be without electricity.

The Palau Public Utilities Corporation has issued a disconnection notice to the national and state governments for non-payment of power bills amounting to $2.1 million as of September 15th.

Palau Public Utilities Corporation general manager, Saturo Adachi, said in a letter to government leaders that since the government has made no effort to make payments, PPUC has no choice but to start the disconnection process,.

He said if payment is not received from the national and state governments, their

bill could be double by January next year.
