Tonga's independent 'Atenisi Institute has launched its own press.
Pacific Media Watch Nius reports that the 'Atenisi Press's first book - Heilala Tangitangi 'O Salote Pilolevu - or The Weeping blossoms for Salote Pilolevu - was launched in Auckland last weekend.
The book by 'Atenisi founder 'Llaisa Futa Helu is a study of 23 Tongan compositions - some by the late Queen Salote - and was published in honour of the King's sister, Princess Pilolevu Tuita.
The institute hopes 'Atenisi Publishing will provide an income source for the financially struggling organisation.
The press has further books planned in both Tongan and English.
