Samoa to host Pacific softball series

10:08 am on 3 October 2008

Samoa will face a big test next year when it hosts the international Pacific softball series next February for the first time.

The Pacific Series was introduced after the 2004 men's world series in Christchurch with three tournaments held so far in three different nations New Zealand, Japan, and Australia.

Three teams have been confirmed the New Zealand Black Sox, Japan and Australia with others yet to make a commitment.

Softball New Zealand general manager Dane Dougan says he's confident Samoa will do a good job, although they do have an events person on board helping with the organising.
