Luggage arrives for Solomon's Pacific Arts delegation 2 months late

More than two months after the 10th Festival of Pacific Arts the Solomon island delegation has finally received luggage that was off-loaded when it departed American Samoa at the end of the festival.

Most of the luggage was offloaded on August 2 at Pago Pago International Aircraft because the Ozjet aircraft chartered by the government to transport the delegation home did not have enough room.

The delegation had taken advantage of low prices in American Samoa to shop for appliances, house wares, fabric and food.

The Solomon Islands Director of Culture, Robert Au, has confirmed to the Solomons Star newspaper that 70 of the 90 missing pieces of luggage have arrived in Port Vila.

Au says he's still tracking down the remaining 20 pieces.
