French Polynesians get cheaper fuel

7:06 pm on 16 October 2008

The French Polynesian government has lowered state-controlled fuel prices as world oil prices continue to fall.

It says the drop of seven US cents a litre will come into effect on November the 1st.

It adds the price being charged in Singapore is still higher than the latest crude price being reported by the media.

The government has also confirmed a ban on milk products from China following the contamination scandal.

It also confirmed plans to make digital television available to all households by the end of 2011.
