12:14 pm on 18 October 2008

The Tonga Auditor General is to audit the spending of five million Tongan pa'anga on the coronation of King George Tupou 5th.

Tonga Broadcasting Commission reports that the decision by the Legislative Assembly follows a resolution from the number 2 Peoples' Representative for Tongatapua, Isileli Pulu,

Mr Pulu says there is some doubt about how the fund for the Coronation was used.

His Serene Prince Tu'ipelehake says it is important that the matter is quickly cleared up or it would affect the King.
