Fiji's first teak planting company, Future Forests Fiji Ltd, is aiming to list on the South Pacific Stock Exchange by early next year.

The company's director, Paul Evers, told Fiji Live the company hopes to list as a public company come May or April 2009.

He says they are aiming for that because it wants to reward its investors and the people that work for it by allowing them to buy more shares.

He says there will be more transparency as the company will not be operated by one person, but by people who work in the company and those who support the company.

FFF currently holds 70 per cent of the company and 30 per cent is local shareholding.

Paul Evers says hopefully, following the listing, there will be 90 per cent local owning and 10 per cent foreign.
