Air Pacific stops Vancouver flights

5:13 pm on 29 October 2008

Fijis national carrier, Air Pacific, has withdrawn its service to Vancouver via Los Angles because it is unsustainable.

The Fiji Times reports the company's Chief executive officer, John Campbell, as saying the low flight frequency of two services a week and very low average fares available between Fiji and Vancouver made the service marginal at the best of times.

Mr Campbell says they will maintain their connection to Vancouver via Los Angeles with Alaska Airlines over the next few years.
