An award winning documentary filmmaker, Dayton Duncan, will be in American Samoa early next month to shoot footage of the National Park of American Samoa to be included in a PBS television network series about national parks throughout the United States.

Roger Moder, the Superintendent of the National Park of American Samoa says the shoot in American Samoa will be part of a 12-hour series to air in September next year

Mr Moder says this is great exposure for the territory's national park which is the only one in the nation that extends to ocean areas.

He says the park, which encompasses leased lands on the islands of Tutuila, Ofu, Olosega and Ta'u is noted for its rainforest, coral reefs and flying foxes.
