Suspended court registrar in Samoa cleared of lost files allegations

12:48 pm on 7 November 2008

A senior court registrar in Samoa, Tusa Latu Kioa, who was suspended over allegations he was involved in the removal of criminal files, has been cleared of any wrongdoing.

The registrar was accused of using the files in the wrongful dismissal of another senior registrar, but after an investigation by the Public Service Commission, he was cleared.

The report has recommended the senior registrar be re-instated, but the CEO of the Ministry of Justice and Courts administration, Masinalupe Tusipa, is yet to decide on his course of action.

The suspended registrar, meanwhile, is about to take legal action against the ministry over the wrongful suspension.
