Fiji's High Court has granted leave to the interim Attorney-General to apply for an order of committal for Contempt of Court against the Fiji Daily Post, its Publisher Alan Hickling, and its Editor Robert Wolfgramm.

The contempt proceedings are in respect of an article published last month in the Fiji Daily Post Letters to the Editor in relation to the High Court judgment in the Qarase case.

A similar proceeding against the Fiji Times and its publisher and editor is currently pending in the High Court.

The Fiji Daily Post has also been ordered to disclose the details of the writer of the letters to the editor.

The case against the Fiji Daily Post, its editor and publisher has been adjourned to allow all relevant documents to be served on the Fiji Daily Post, its editor and the publisher.

The matter will now be called in the High Court on 27 November 2008 for mention.
