Ballu Khan's lawyer says compensation will be sought

Ballu Khan is planning to ask the interim government for compensation, after Fiji's high court struck out all charges against the businessman

Mr Khan and ten others were charged with conspiracy to kill Commodore Frank Bainimarama, and other cabinet members last year.

His lawyer, Peter Williams QC, says that judgment was a great day for Fiji.

He says Mr Khan was badly assaulted at the time of his arrest and is asking for compensation.

The Fiji Times reports Mr Williams as saying there are still some outstanding matters, but the most important thing is the liberty of Mr Khan.
