Pay dispute grounds PNG flights

2:50 pm on 13 November 2008

Flights in Papua New Guinea have been grounded due to an on-going air traffic control pay dispute.

The Air Traffic Control Association is meeting today to decide whether to return to work after several days of disrupted services.

The Post Courier newspaper reports the standoff between the union and the PNG Civil Aviation Authority has disrupted Air Niugini's international and domestic flights as well as the country's other main carrier, Airlines PNG.
