China is to provide the Tonga Defence Services with an aircraft.
The Chinese Ambassador to Tonga, Fan Guijin, last week presented the Defence Services with eight trucks worth half a million US dollars.
The Matangi Tonga website reports the Tonga Defence Minister, Sonatane Tu'a Taumopeau, saying the trucks will enable the Service to quickly react to unforseen circumstances, especially natural disasters.
Ambassador Fan says he will ensure that the list of cooperation projects with Tonga continues to grow.
And he says in the near future China will be donating an aircraft to the Defence Services.
