French Polynesia's press has detailed the pay of the top people in the territory's postal and telecommunications administration during the period 2000 to 2007.

The Nouvelles de Tahiti says according to the accounts office, the head of the OPT board drew a monthly salary of just under 46,000 US dollars.

It mentions Geffry Salmon as one of those to secure such remuneration for the period from November 2003 to June 2004.

The same was accorded to Jean-Alain Frebault last year.

The paper says another top official, Jean-Paul Barral, drew a salary of just over 2,100 dollars because a higher pay would have made him ineligible for the pension he was getting.

The report also points to the opaqueness with which the company placed more than 100 million dollars with a Swiss bank.
