Samoa's Electric Power Corporation drops monthly fuel surcharge

Samoa's Electric Power Corporation has dropped the monthly fuel surcharge applied on the base tariff for power.

The 6-point-49% reduction came into effect December 1.

EPC customers will see the reduction in their utility bills next month.

Prior to 1 December EPC's fuel surcharge rate was 32-point-73%.

The corporation says the reduction is a result of the national wholesale price reduction of diesel effective last month.

The local total cost per unit for domestic consumers from will be, 73 sene for 1 to 50 units, and 87 sene above this level, and for commercial consumers it's 87 sene for one unit.
