Lack of quorum delays French Polynesia assembly sitting

2:47 pm on 5 December 2008

The assembly in French Polynesia has been forced to defer today's budget debate because of a lack of a quorum.

The debate will now be held tomorrow.

This is the second time in just under three weeks that the assembly was short of the minimum number to sit.

In November, only three out of 57 members were present as many were in France to attend the mayors' conference.
