Vanuatu parliament to vote fourth no confidence motion in three months

2:29 pm on 9 December 2008

The Parliament of Vanuatu is to meet this afternoon for the fourth vote of no confidence in the Government of Edward Natapei since it came to power in September.

The special parliamentary sitting was ordered by the Vanuatu Supreme Court after the Opposition had challenged the refusal of the Speaker to accept their motion for a no confidence vote.

Mr Natapei's coalition narrowly defeated the last challenge two weeks ago.
