Three victims of a bus fire in Fiji four months ago yet to be identified

The bodies of three victims of a bus fire in Fiji four months ago have yet to be identified and remain at the Suva mortuary.

Thirty people were hospitilised, and 12 people died, when they bus they were traveling in caught fire near in Sigatoka in August. .

DNA tests on the 12 victims have been returned from Australia with nine positively identified.

However, more DNA samples had to taken from the other three remains and have been sent to Australia for further identification.

The police are still awaiting results.

Fiji authorities have since imposed strict safety measures on buses.
