Fiji's Public Service Commission has fined the two doctors involved in the case of a five year old boy who died after surgery on a fractured arm.

Shavneet Kumar was five when he died last September.

The doctors who have been fined are Luke Nasendra and Teresa Lum.

The Fiji Times says the Health Ministry's permanent secretary Dr Lepani Waqatakirewa, said the inquiry found some weakness in the handling and management of the case.

Dr Waqatakirewa says the doctors could appeal against the fine.
