Hawaii's Department of Land and Natural Resources hold public meeting on fish stocks

11:35 am on 13 January 2009

Hawaii's Department of Land and Natural Resources will hold a series of public meetings to discuss measures to preserve fast declining numbers of the three most popular fish in Hawaii.

These are the parrotfish, goatfish and jacks.

Laura Thielen, DLNR director told the Honolulu Star Bulletin that public input will help them design rules that will support ongoing conservation of marine resources, while balancing the needs of recreational, subsistence and commercial fishers.
