Tonga is the latest country to donate money to Fiji to help it cope with the floods.

The Tongan government says cabinet approved a 60,000 US dollar donation which will be handed over to the Fiji interim prime minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama.

It says the funds will be handed over by the deputy prime minister, Viliami Ta'u Tangi, who is currently in Fiji.

Earlier this week, donations to help the flood victims were made by New Zealand, Australia and China.
