American Samoa's member of the US Congress, Faleomavaega Eni, is to meet Senator Daniel Inouye of Hawaii next week in Washington DC to discuss issues regarding American Samoa's needs.

Faleomavaega says the meeting with Mr Inouye, who chairs the US Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee, will be an opportunity to discuss the minimum wage and other issues facing American Samoa, especially projects to benefit local residents.

American Samoa is hoping to be included in any congressional approved economic stimulus bill to help rejuvenate the local economy.
